France – Air France Strike 22.2.
Ten labour unions, representing Air France (AF) pilots, cabin crew, and ground staff, have announced a 24-hour strike action Feb. 22 to demand higher pay increments. Should it materialise, the work stoppage is likely to significantly affect AF flight services.
Disruptions could be most pronounced at the airline’s hubs in Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and Orly (ORY) airports. Short- and medium-haul passenger flights are more likely to be affected by potential cancellations than intercontinental routes. Lingering delays are possible even after the strike ends, as any resulting backlogs are cleared.
Striking staff could also stage protests; demonstrators may gather near airport entrances and/or attempt to obstruct traffic on airport access roads.
